Evan Sheinhait, Rabbi

Rabbi Evan Sheinhait is honored to be the rabbi at Temple Tiferet Shalom, effective January 1, 2023.

​

Rabbi Evan, as he likes to be called, earned his master's degree in Hebrew Literature from Hebrew Union College-Jewish Institute of Religion in New York in 2018 and received his Rabbinic ordination in 2019. He is also a proud graduate of the University of Massachusetts Amherst, with a Bachelor of Arts in Judaic Studies.

 

Rabbi Evan is a passionate community builder who celebrates vibrant and meaningful Jewish identity, exploring what Jewish life can and must look like in the 21st century. Throughout his rabbinate, Rabbi Evan has worked with synagogues and Hillels across the east coast and is excited to usher TTS into its next chapter.

 

Rabbi Evan was raised in Framingham and has strong connections to the city of Peabody, with many family members in our community. In his spare time, Rabbi Evan loves to read mystery novels and children’s books with his son Reuven, travel to new places with his dog Lilith, and cook dishes from around the world with his wife Micaela.

Michelle Rubenstein, Cantor

Cantor Michelle Rubenstein is delighted to share her love of Jewish music, Jewish learning, and Jewish life with the Temple Tiferet Shalom community. Cantor Rubenstein has served Jewish communities in New England for more than 20 years in both cantorial and educational roles. A graduate of Cornell University and the Cantorial Intern Program of the Cantors Assembly, Cantor Rubenstein holds a certificate in Jewish Liturgical Music from Hebrew College and is a fully commissioned Hazzan. She studies voice at the Performing Arts Center of Metrowest.

 

Cantor Rubenstein believes in making Judaism accessible to all. She has a diagnosed learning disability and is passionate about inclusion. Cantor Rubenstein strives to build community by cultivating positive experiences with Judaism and encouraging meaningful relationships among community members, leaders, and visitors.

 

Cantor Rubenstein grew up in Framingham, Massachusetts, and lives with her husband Isaac and their son Jesse.

Beth Simons, Office Manager

Beth Simons has been a member of Temple Beth Shalom, now Temple Tiferet Shalom, for over 38 years. She has been taking care of all of the temple's needs for the past 20 years, running the office with extreme efficiency. She is focused on ensuring all congregants' needs are taken care of, from ritual and life cycle events to school needs, and making sure each congregant has a fulfilling spiritual experience as a member of our congregation.

Tracy Cranson, Religious School Director

Tracy Cranson,  Head of the Religious school at TTS. has been involved in Jewish education most of her life. Her background is from a  Conservative Jewish education from a Jewish day school which availed her the opportunity to learn Hebrew, Torah and Rituals at a very young age, giving her a solid foundation for an eventual career in Jewish education. As Head of School, Tracy oversees the curriculum and assure that our students are getting the best support for their individual needs. She also teaches our 6th and 7th grade students and tutors the B’nai Mitzvah students.  

 

Outside of TTS, Tracy practices civil litigation and is the proud mother of a 15 year old son, Jacob. She always says, "My heart and soul feeds on Judaism and I am grateful for the chance to share that with our TTS students, families and congregation".

Janice Ross, Preschool Director

Janice Ross, our Preschool Director, has been working with our youngsters since 1999. She received her degree in Early Childhood Education from Salem State University where her love for learning and young children were melded together. Janice discovered how special TTS’ (Temple Beth Shalom at the time) school is when she was searching for a program for her own daughter, and she’s been here ever since.
